Following the terrorist attack in London which left 4 innocent people dead including PC Keith PALMER there has been overwhelming outpouring of support for policing across the UK. When we lose one of our own, no matter which force they are from, we all feel that pain as we know why they joined and understand what it means.
Whilst recognising that no amount of money can bring someone back, can change what has happened, nor lessen the pain for his loved ones; the Metropolitan Police Federation set up a JustGiving page to raise funds for Keith's family which has exceeded all expectations.
Sadly whenever we lose an officer in such circumstances a donation is always made on your behalf. Therefore regardless of rank or length of service, Bedfordshire Police Federation has donated £1.00 for every one of our members. We have then rounded this up to £1500.00 which I know has been greatly appreciated by the Metropolitan Police Federation.
