Approaching retirement? FREE SEMINARS
Welcome, Bridget
Bridget Murphy joined the Federation team as part-time administrator last december, sharing the post with debbie Southerden who works the first part of the week.
Bridget sees her role as supporting the chairman and secretary and ensuring the busy office runs efficiently and effectively.
She had worked in various roles within the Force for 11 years and for 14 years with Bedfordshire Police Authority. She was then personal assistant to the Chief Constable for two years.
Bridget was delighted to have been awarded an MBE last year for her voluntary work supporting vulnerable people. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, particularly her granddaughters, lola and Annie.
Thank you...
the Volunteer Cadets, both North and South, have been responsible for building and circulating the new ‘Goody Bags’ that we sent out to all subscribing Bedfordshire Police Federation members to promote our new website.
They gave up their own time to do this and we just want to say a big thank you to them as there were more than 1,000 to put together and post.
Officers who registered on the website went into a draw to win an iPad Air 2 and the winner was DS Mark Taylor.
A donation was made to the Bedfordshire Police volunteer Cadet Fund.

New DCC
the Police Federation has congratulated former ACC Mark Collins on his appointment as the Force’s new deputy Chief Constable.
Mr Collins joined the Force from the Met in June last year.
“We are pleased Mr Collins was successful in his application to take over the DCC role,” says Jim Mallen, chairman of Bedfordshire Police Federation, “He will have already developed a sound working knowledge of the Force and can now build on this in this new post.”
Mr Collins explains: “I have been given a tremendous welcome at Bedfordshire and have been impressed by the determination of the committed, driven people working hard to make the county a safer place for residents and visitors.
“I’m delighted to have been made Deputy Chief Constable and feel privileged to have the opportunity to help take the Force to the next level.”
Mr Collins has 24 years’ experience in policing built up within the Met and at Dyfed Powys Police.
