Federation Issue Guidance on Pension Challenge

A successful legal challenge to the 2015 Care Police Pension Scheme could initially benefit some officers but, in turn, be detrimental to others, according to the general secretary of the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW).
Andy Fittes has written an open letter to members setting out his concerns and has also issued a briefing document in response to the Pensions Challenge set up independently by a group of officers.
Force 'Needs Improvement' Says HMIC

Bedfordshire is one of eight forces across England and Wales found to be in the 'requires improvement' category in the latest HMIC PEEL inspections.
As part of its annual inspections into police efficiency, effectiveness and legitimacy (PEEL), HMIC's efficiency programme assessed how a force maximises the outcomes from its available resources.
Widow's Pension Campaign - No Widow Should Be Left Behind

Home Secretary Theresa May announced on Monday that the widows of police officers who died in the line of duty will no longer lose their pensions if they re-marry or choose to co-habit. But those who have already re-married or moved in with a partner will not have them reinstated.
